Thank you to all those who donated at our DAV Clothing Drive. “A salute” to County Market for the use of the parking lot and to all our MN DAV Chapter 39 volunteers! Proceeds for the collected items will support veterans and their families in Anoka and surrounding counties.

CLOTHING DRIVE, MAY 21st & 22nd, COUNTY MARKET

MN DAV Chapter 39 Clothing Drive coming to COUNTY MARKET,13735 Round Lake Blvd., Andover, MN 55304 on Sat., May 21st from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, and Sun., May 22nd , from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm.  Look for our DAV trailer and volunteers in the parking lot.  Proceeds from the clothing drive support area Veterans.  Please bag your clothing and shoes. 

MAY 2022 CHAPTER AND UNIT MEETINGS

MN DAV Chapter 39 and Auxiliary Unit 39 will conduct their monthly meetings on Thurs., May 12, 2022, beginning at 6:30 PM at the VFW, 1919 Coon Rapids Blvd., Coon Rapids, MN 55433.  Agenda for MN DAV Chapter 39 May meeting will include an update of the 6th Annual Leo Luskey DAV Golf Tournament, sign-up for volunteers to support the upcoming Clothing Drive fundraiser on May 21st and 22nd at County Market, Bunker Lake Blvd. & Round Lake Blvd., Memorial Day Services and Membership Drive (Lifetime Membership now offered for $50).  The next meeting will be conducted on June 9, 2022. 
A reminder that there will be no Chapter or Auxiliary Unit meetings in the month of July.

MEMORIAL DAY 2022 PROGRAMS

The National Memorial Day Concert can be viewed on your local PBS on Sun., May 29, 7:00 PM CST. 
For streaming and to find your local PBS station visit https://www.pbs.org/national-memorial-day-concert/ Anoka County Veterans Council is conducting two Memorial Day services on Sat., May 28.  At 10:00 AM, Morningside Memorial Garden, University Ave. & 118th Street and 11:30 AM, Bunker Hills Veterans Memorial with a picnic following.  Veterans Memorial Park of Blaine is hosting a Memorial Day program on Mon., May 30th, 2:00 pm.  Keynote speaker is Chief Britt Slabinski, Navy Seal and Medal of Honor recipient.  The event will pay special recognition to Blaine High School graduate Zachary Ewing, who passed away while serving in the United States Army.
