8th Annual Leo Luskey DAV Golf Tournament, July 18, 2024, at The Refuge Golf Course, 21250 Yellow Pine Street, Oak Grove, MN 55011.

Twenty-eight registered foursomes are heading to today’s 8th Annual Leo Luskey DAV Golf Tournament. The tournament, one of MN DAV Chapter’s 39’s largest fund-raising events, is once again being held at The Refuge Golf Course. Special thanks to Hope for the Community in keeping our volunteers and golfers once again hydrated with their thoughtful donation of bottled water (https://www.facebook.com/hope4thecommunity) and to Lowes in Blaine (https://www.facebook.com/LowesHomeImprovementBlaineMN) for donating the fluorescent vests for our volunteers to be recognized on the golf course. While our webmaster and photographer is unable to join us this year, Ken fabricated and provided a memorial display to recognize fellow Marine and DAV member, Leo Luskey. It’s the community, local businesses, organizations, and volunteers that makes the Annual Leo Luskey Annual DAV Golf Tournament a recurring success.

7TH ANNUAL LEO LUSKEY DAV GOLF TOURNAMENT

The MN DAV Chapter 39 Golf Tournament Committee met in August 2023 to declare the 7th Annual Leo Luskey DAV Golf Tournament a huge success. Proceeds from the tournaments provided MN DAV Chapter 39’s the funding to purchase THE FIRST DAV Movility Van for use to transport veterans to and from medical appointments within the chapter’s five county area! Anoka and surrounding counties depend on VOLUNTEERS (and their personal vehicles) to transport veterans.

Blaine Festival and Aspen Exterior stepped up to the Patriot Level of Sponsorship. Hole Sponsors included Northeast Bank, DAV Department of MN, the Kloop Family and Disabled Veterans Rest Camp, A-Team Construction, and the Kloop Family. The Refuge Golf Club provided the awards dinner meal and once again, awesome support by the employees. Thank you to all our participants and our special volunteers.
